The Bomb!

This was one of those projects I wanted to see if I could do. With all of my projects I used a Ronson

lighter as a Prototype. I then made one out of a Zippo. I was able to build a very simple circuit to

make the LED change from RED to GREEN. The antennae had to be taken completely

apart, each shaft was cut down, and then the final pieces had to be put back together.

There was one design change from the Prototype to the final product.

In the Prototype I had a press ON / press Off switch. I glued this inside the insert

under the Cam. I drilled a hole through the top of the insert, right where the Cam

met the Cam Spring. A piece of paperclip was attached to the top of the switch. Now

when the cap opened it would swing the Cam, moving the Cam Spring down pushing the

the switch on. Then when the Cap was closed it would reverse the process turning off

the switch. Well I put it all together....... and it worked! But not reliably. Well when I showed it

to the guys in black suits, they didn't like it. So I designed in Safety Pin. This pin arms the device.
